What it is
BetRivers is the consumer brand for Rush Street Interactive’s online sportsbook and casino. In New Jersey, DGE lists nj.betrivers.com as an approved internet gaming site under Golden Nugget Hotel Casino & Marina. We checked that official Internet Gaming Sites page in August 2026. DGE can add or remove sites; confirm the live list before you create an account.
The sportsbook is a licensed New Jersey sports-wagering product from the same brand, on the same consumer site. Rush Street Interactive launched in New Jersey earlier under the PlaySugarHouse name and rebranded the New Jersey site to BetRivers in August 2022. Same company. Same regulatory chain. Different consumer label.
Who it is for
BetRivers tends to fit adults who want sports and casino in one New Jersey login, or who are shopping a second licensed book for a different number on a Sunday. The sportsbook is a full board — moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, same-game parlays, and live betting — not a thin kiosk bolted onto a casino lobby.
It is a weaker fit if you only care about having the largest New Jersey handle, or if you want a rewards program tied to a national hotel group such as MGM or Caesars. A smaller book can still have a better price on a given game. Shop lines.
Products, in plain terms
- Sportsbook. Pre-match and live wagers on licensed sports, including NFL. Availability is limited to jurisdictions where BetRivers is licensed. The operator’s own site is the place to confirm the current map; do not assume a New Jersey account works in another state, even if BetRivers is separately licensed there.
- Casino / iGaming. Real-money slots, table games, and live dealer where the state licenses online casino and BetRivers is live. New Jersey is one of those markets. Casino games that load in New Jersey will not load in a sports-betting-only state.
Legal-state caveat
BetRivers cannot take a New Jersey casino wager from Pennsylvania, or a New Jersey sports wager from a state that has not licensed that product for this brand. Geolocation decides. If you travel, the product menu will change. Do not use a VPN to appear in New Jersey — or any other licensed state.
