DraftKings

A large, publicly traded U.S. operator with a sportsbook, an online casino in a few states, daily fantasy, and newer prediction-market products. Useful if you want one familiar brand. Not the only licensed option, and not available everywhere.

21+. You must be physically located where DraftKings is licensed for that product. Sportsbook, casino, fantasy, and prediction contracts are different products with different maps.

What it is

DraftKings Inc. describes itself as a digital sports and gaming company. Its June 30, 2026 SEC quarterly report listed online and retail sports betting, iGaming, daily fantasy, a digital lottery courier (Jackpocket), and prediction markets.

In New Jersey, DGE lists casino.draftkings.com as an approved internet gaming site under Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City. The sportsbook is a separate, licensed New Jersey sports-wagering product from the same brand.

Who it is for

DraftKings tends to fit people who already follow major U.S. leagues and want a deep betting board — including same-game parlays, player props, and live betting — on a brand they have seen on television. The casino product is for adults in iGaming states who want slots and tables in the same company family. Daily fantasy is a different contest product with its own state map and is not the same as placing a sportsbook wager.

It is a weaker fit if you only care about a land-based rewards program (BetMGM/MGM or Caesars may matter more), or if DraftKings is not licensed for the product you want in your state.

Products, in plain terms

  • Sportsbook. Pre-match and live wagers on licensed sports. As of June 30, 2026, DraftKings said it operated its sportsbook in 29 of the 33 U.S. jurisdictions that had legalized online sports betting, plus Puerto Rico and Ontario. That list changes. Check the app.
  • Casino / iGaming. Real-money slots and tables where the state licenses online casino. DraftKings’ mid-2026 filing said it offered iGaming in Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ontario. Other iGaming states exist; DraftKings is not automatically live in all of them.
  • Daily fantasy. Peer-to-peer contests, available in many more states than sports betting. Still 18+/21+ by state, and still a paid contest you can lose.
  • Predictions. DraftKings also offers event contracts under federal CFTC oversight through a subsidiary. That is not a state-licensed sportsbook wager. Do not treat it as a way around a state that has not licensed sports betting.

Legal-state caveat

DraftKings cannot take a New Jersey casino wager from Pennsylvania, or a New York sports wager from a state that has not licensed it. Geolocation decides. If you travel, the product menu will change.

Responsible gaming

Licensed DraftKings products include deposit limits, time-outs, and self-exclusion. In New Jersey you can also use the state’s self-exclusion program, which is broader than a single-operator cool-off. See responsible gaming.

This is not a recommendation to open an account. DraftKings is a licensed operator with a house edge. You can lose.
